Sifting through the multitude of multi book series
October 1st, 2006One of the great things, which is also one of the bad things, about epic fantasy is the proliferation of the big multi series epic works. We are all familiar with many of these and they range from Tolkien to Robert Jordan, Terry Brooks, Stephen Donaldson and well, practically every fantasy writer has imbibed in this form. But it does pose a bit of a problem. If you are starting a series you need to keep the books straight. Which books are next? How many are in the series or even how many are currently in the series and how many are projected.
You also have the problem of trying to pick a new series to start. This brings up its own questions. What authors have what series?
I have put together a webpage that helps with this problem. It is the Massive collection of series and I think it might be the largest one on the web. It currently has 53 series listed by 23 different authors and it’s getting close to 300 books.
If you are in a fantasy series or considering a new series you should check out the list. It is a great reference. The Massive List of Fantasy Series
