Build Your Own Medieval Castle (Miniature sized!)

February 22nd, 2007

For the past couple of weeks I have had a run on sales of medieval castle projects and maybe this is because people have been finding the stuff I am writing about these projects. But I think it might be more that we are coming into the end of winter and people, being inside so long because of cold weather and snow have been looking for interesting projects to while away the rest of the season.

Either way these are just some nice projects regardless of the season. The first Medieval Castle here is one that I received as a gift and I really enjoyed it. If you look at it on Amazon.com you can see the review I wrote about it.

It is really amazing how wonderful a project like this looks when it is completed. For me there is something very appealing about miniature worlds.

Make This Model Medieval Castle (Usborne Cut-Out Models) I was given this project as a gift and thoroughly enjoyed it. You need to have some paper working skill to make it come out really good. I used a little too much glue when attaching the parts to the base so the base came out just a little wrinkled. When you do a project like this always be sparing with the glue. The subtle colors of this model are really nice.

Castles To Cut out and Put together

Cut and Assemble a Medieval Castle : A Full-Color Model of Caernarvon Castle in Wales. I like the idea that this is a replica of a real castle.

Make This Medieval Village Interesting idea to make a whole village. You could probably do some miniature wargaming with this.

Easy to make Castle  This one really has a great Stronghold Keep look about it. This says “easy to make” but it looks really nice.

An Update on my Medieval ebay stores

February 21st, 2007

in an earlier post I talked about my affiliation with ebay and how I was working on putting ebay items right on my website. I have completed this project -Although I may expand it.

If you are always on the hunt for a great bargain in the medieval genre you might want to check out these ebay stores. I have made it real easy for you to look at items in specific topics without ever leaving my site.

Here is what one of the integrated ebay pages looks like:

a medieval weapon and armor ebay store

It’s a nice setup that lists items for you to scrolll through.

Check out the home page for my new medieval ebay stores here:

Some interesting Medieval type web resources

February 19th, 2007

A web visitor passed me some interesting links that he thought I should take a look at. He was right, they are interesting! I am passing them along for you to look at.

Morgane’s Medieval Download Haven - Nice collection of screensavers, clip art and other medieval related art - Only for private use, not for publication to websites without express consent from them.

Raising a Modern Day Knight - really interesting site for fathers and sons . All about raising a boy to be a modern day knight. Not a fiction site, a parenting site. I really like this. They offer a comprehensive program.

Paladin Press - Home of the Action Library They have a best selling book entitled: Medieval Swordsmanship

Medieval Sword Resource site: Nice, no frills, no sell site with lots of information on swords.

Sword and Weapon Sales sites

http://www.swordsdirect.com/ accepts visa and M/C

http://www.medievalcollectibles.com/  Newsletter sign-up, most popular items purchased listing, has lots of “new” items.

http://www.a2armory.com/swords.htm?agent_camp=19143001 very simple layout, better business bureau logo and other secure icons, savings displayed and a toll free number.

http://www.by-the-sword.com/ “official replicas movie props” I have always wanted to know if I could get something that was in a movie. They have the visa m/c discover thing as well.

http://www.medievalswords.net/ very simple, I like the “officially licensed movie swords on sale now” with Frodo and sting.

http://www.mwart.com/ this site addresses the faire goers, collector, re-enactment people and the enthusiasts which is just about everybody (I think). $5 off first order if you sign up for email.

A big thankyou to my web visitor for sending me this stuff.
