I am going to tell you about his best work… but not yet, you probably never heard of it.

Of course you probably know a lot about him. He was quite a remarkable man, he wrote many blockbuster books that were turned into movies and in a wide variety of subjects, usually technology and science based. And seeing as this blog is mostly a medieval blog you should know that he wrote Timeline which is a time travel story about travel back to medieval times, and Eaters of the Dead , which is partially based on Beowulf. It has also been made into a movie with Antonio Banderas (The 13th Warrior ). And he is of course the author of Jurassic Park and the creator of the hit tv show “ER”.

The list of accomplishments that he had is staggering and I am not going to go into it. Lets just say he was quite a remarkable man. What I really want to talk about in this post is his best, and possibly least known, book. It is called Travels and it is without a doubt my favorite of all his works. And I was shocked when I heard him say the same thing during an interview with Charlie Rose.

About Travels

It is autobiographical in nature. But it not your typical autobiography. It is all about his Travels in both the external world and the internal world. He seeks answers to questions that we all seek answers to. He keeps an open mind about everything and tries to find the truth in things. It’s a remarkable book and I highly recommend it.

Travels

I find myself wondering as I hold the book in my hand if Michael has finally found the answers to the questions in the book - now that he has made his final travel and crossed over that last, and most mysterious border.

He has another finished book coming out next year but they won’t reveal anything about it or the title of it. I think it will be akin to travels but thats just a guess. It would be fitting though.

You can touch them up and make them look professional by adding colorful heat shrink caps. It only takes a few minutes and each cap costs only about 9 cents. I have a full tutorial with a video that shows you how to do it. Heat Shrink caps for your mead. The picture below is an example of a bottle I did.
